Born March 25, 1982 in Beloit, Wisconsin is Danica Sue Patrick. She is currently a model, advertising spokeswoman and auto racing driver. Patrick was racing go-karts at age 10 and winning several World Karting championships. At 16 she moved to England to take her racing to the next level. Patrick finished second in the Formula Ford Festival in Britain, the first woman to finish this high in an event. In 2002 she went back to the United States and was driving for Rahal Letterman Racing.
Patrick’s Indy debut season was in 2005. Patrick is currently a driver for Andretti Autosport team and drives car number 7 in the IRL Indy Car Series. Her sponsors are Boost Mobile/GoDaddy.com Honda/Dallara. Her best finish in 2009 was 3rd in the Indianapolis 500. This was the highest finish by a woman and her personal best. In her 81 starts she has won the pole 3 times and has 1 victory. Patrick also won the Indy Car Rookie of the Year in 2005 and the Indy Car Most Popular Driver. Patrick finished with her highest ranking in the 2009 season in 5th in the point standings. This was also the highest finish for all drivers on the Andretti Autosport team.
In 2010 Danica Patrick will be racing limited NASCAR events as well as Indy Car. Patrick will be in the number 7 Chevrolet sponsored by GoDaddy.com. She will be a part of the JR Motorsports team owned by Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Kelley Earnhardt, Rick Hendrick and Tony Eury, Jr. Her debut will be an ARCA event February 6, 2010 in Daytona.
