It is getting to be that time of year for college football bowl games. With over 25 different bowl games you will get your fill of football between December 19, 2009 and January 7, 2010. The most popular being the Rose Bowl played in Pasadena, California which is for the National Championship. The first team that earned a spot is Ohio State who is going to the Rose Bowl. OSU defeated Iowa in overtime, now they have to wait to see who they will face.
Other high profile bowl games include the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona featuring the Big 12 vs. BCS at large bid. The Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida features the ACC vs. BCS at large bid. The Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana will be two BCS at large spots. The Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida will host the ACC vs. Big East/Big 12 or Notre Dame. The Outback Bowl Features the Big Ten vs. SEC. The Cotton Bowl features the Big 12 vs. SEC.
After week 12 teams that might expect to be in a bowl game this year will be Georgia Tech who won the ACC division title and currently ranked 7th, Florida with a 10-0 record ranked 1st, Alabama, Texas, TCU, Cincinnati and Boise State all with 10-0 records. Pittsburgh, LSU, Oregon and Oklahoma State round out the top twelve teams. Rounding out the top 25 is: Penn State, Stanford, Iowa, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Clemson, Brigham Young, Oregon State, Miami, USC, Utah, Houston and Texas.
