The strategic board game Blokus has been around since 2000, a mathematician designed this game using geometry associating the use of polyminos as game pieces. This game of strategy has won 26 awards including Best Game Award in Japan and Best Strategy Game Award in the United States. Blokus is a top selling board game with simple rules that can be played by anyone age five and up.
The game comes with a 400 square board, 84 playing pieces which each color has 21 pieces and each of the 21 pieces have a different shape. The object of the game is to get all or most of your pieces place on the playing board. To start the game, the person that has the blue pieces starts first followed by yellow, red and green. Each color or person must start play from a different corner on the board. Each game piece placed on the board must touch a corner of the same color piece. The play goes on until no one can place any more pieces. Point values of 15 points are awarded if you placed all 21 pieces. You also count pieces that have not been placed and you get negative points. The person with the most points wins!
Blokus is a fun, educational game for learning strategy and can be played by 2-4 people. Blokus has several versions of the game such as Blokus Trigon, Blokus Giant and Travel Blokus.
